Thanks, seems that in my Vista64 System restore was the problem. also
Disabled now the windows Defender real time protection to see if that
improves the situation (not tested it yet).

I'll check the other things also. If someone knows more of the "Windows 2003
volume shadow copy" and maybe some simple help file/web page how to check on
that (and what it is all about, so we could tell our customers does they
really need it).

We should gather all these Windows and Firebird performance tricks to some
document on the Firebird website.
