Helen,
I just checked and the vhe version that gives this error is indeed 2.5.0.20343. This is odd, because I never install alpha or beta versions, only the lastest safe versions. (maybe it was one of those middle of the night installs :)
The version on the remote server was 2.0, and I gave up on that
possibly as long as a year ago, It did not give this error, but failed to run.
However, I have found a solution, or at least a workaround: For this version of firebird I must remove the username and password from the sql script command.
SYSDBA and masterkey are still specified in the isql command, but must be removed from the create command inside the sql file.
This was not necessary when using version 1.5. I don't know if it was an intentional change or not, but it was a breaking change when moving from 1.5 to 2.x.
Thanks,
Kyle
