Thanx for the info Anderson.. I will write just a small utility that
would publish each stores stock onhand to the central server and have
that run as a scheduled job say every hour or so..

I'd settup a "cental" database to get replicated data from all other
five.
This way you just need to query this db to get data from all sites.
There
are many great replication tools out there.
