In classic, each connection forks a new process. So a lot of
connections (e.g. users) will create a lot of processes which are
resource (memory) intensive.
As to what is "a lot" it depends on your configuration file (e.g. cache
settings, etc.) and how much memory is installed.
Run a test and find out how many active connections, fill up available
memory, and use that as the limit on your application server's
connection pool.

Rick,
Your right there mst be multiple connections. The best way to reslove
this is to setup a test machine which I will do and see if classic will
give me a performance increase over superserver.
I was wondering if someone could expound on this comment:
"Doesn't scale that good when a of lot users are connected." What is
alot of users?
Thanks again,
Todd
