Ummm....the "dinky little icon" is Guardian. As instructed just about everywhere, don't use Guardian with Classic. (Not that this is likely to be the immediate source of your problem).

On Vista, since your local application is actually running as a remote desktop client, there is no "local loopback server" that it can validly refer to. You'll need the hostname (network node name) of the server (or the IP address, if it is stable).
