We too are having very similar behavior. We have been doing a lot of
research on this and have had a very difficult time trying to figure
out what is going on.

The problem has only started recently over the past 2 or 3 months,
after we moved to Firebird 2.

I agree if anybody has any information at all or any ideas it would help.
