Hi Svein,
We are using firebird 1.5.2 version and there is only one user "admin".
The following are the observations.
1. In single processor machine, it takes 9 min. to fetch 15,000 records with CpuAffinityMask=1 and the server is Super Server.
2. But when I execute the same test case (fetch 15,000 records) on multiprocessor machine, it takes more than 1 hour.
3. I changed the CpuAffinityMask=3 and tested, but it took more than 1 hour.
4. Modified the sever type to Classic server and started export of 15,000 records on multiprocessor machine, even then also it took more than 1 hour.
I hope you can understand the term 'slow'. The time taken to fetch the number of records is drastically degrading.
Is there any performance improvement, if we upgrade the firebird version to 2.0.1.
Is there any way to improve the performance using Super Server for Dual CPU and SCSI RAID machines.
Regards,
Rambabu

Which Firebird version, how many users with both CS/SS and single/multiprocessor machine?
Have you set the CPU affinity (or whatever it is called) to use one specific processor when running SS on a machine with multiple processors?
Also, define the word 'slow'. Exactly what is slow (connecting, querying etc) and how slow is 'slow'?

Hi All,
We are using Firebird Super Server. It is working fine with Windows
single processor machines.
But when it comes to multiprocessing environment (Dual CPU and SCSI
RAID machines), the performance is drastically degrading.
We observed the same performance problem with Classical Server
also. Is there any way to improve the performance using Super
Server for Dual CPU and SCSI RAID machines.
Can anybody suggest a solution to this problem? It is very Urgent...
Regards,
Rambabu
