There was traffic on the development mailing list about implementing
shadows on network drives. The work was done, now it needs to be
integrated. I don't know which release it could end up in.

Subject: [firebird-support] Shadow / Oracle Snapshot capability

Do we have anything like this in FB?

Details: For disaster recovery requirements, we need to make a "live"
copy of the data to a remote location. Shadow as I understand it will
only make the copy to a local file system. I need to make this to a
remote file system. Anyone doing this and how are you doing it? Is it
reliable? Is Shadow in a state that a bit more development and it could
be upgraded to handle this functionality?

Thanks.
