But how could you use GBAK to backup the file when it's encrypted at the
filesystem level? You would have run gbak as the user who owns the file and
that user is protected by a randomly-generated password which you created
when you installed your app.



I think I understand your problem though. For my solution to work, you'd
need to have your own separate installation of firebird (or if you're
running inside your own service, just use the embedded server).
