Well...you could...if the server can access the laptop's filesystem
for writing a file, e.g. using Samba if the server is Linux and the
laptop is Windows; or as an xfs file if the laptop is Linux; or as
a share if both the laptop and the server are Windows.

Often, people just copy the backup file from the server after the
backup is complete.
