.I did and upgrade from winxp to windows Vista and I have to uninstall my
firebird 1.5 because the process didn't work.
Then, once I have win vista, I couldn't reinstall Firebird 1.5. and I have
to install Firebird 2.0 and now it runs ok.

Perhaps you have UAC activated. I´m having a lot problems with my
applications with this security activated.
I have to disable it to run them.
