The query
select V2 from TABLE where V1 in
(select max(V1) from TABLE where V1 <= 25)
Returns the correct results, using the following plan:
PLAN (TABLE ORDER I_V1_COLUMN_INDEX)
PLAN (TABLE INDEX (U_UNIQUE_CONSTRAINT))
However, my brain fart was worse than I thought, I've alread solved the
problem (see my response to my own post).
