simple or transparent with its path transformations. Assuming that
the latest tricks in the Vista Mystery Package are anything like
symbolic links would be a fast-track to horror, methinks. POSIX
systems have hard-and-fast rules that are known to (or at least
knowable by) anyone. MS builds minefields.
