low power ITX based windows computer rather than the dual core AMD64 linux box!
Secondary to this however is a niggle with Firebird running on Linux on the
other site. I'm accessing it from windows machines and these are dropping
their connections and closing the program ( which is using IBObjects to access
the data ). Accessing Firebird running on windows has been fine for many
years, and I've now switched the second site back to Firebird on a windows box
to see if it will run a whole day without a problem. In fact this site was
still running FB1 up until last weekend - on a windows box.
I have been told for a number of years that I should be using Linux servers,
and the web side seems to be working fine, even accessing Firebird remotely on
a windows box, but I have yet to get a usable system running 24/7 with
Firebird *ON* a Linux server :(
So where am I going wrong?
