I would be cautious about this. I have had no end of trouble using
utf8 with FB2.0.x and have had to start sticking in explicit
_UNICODE_FSS introducers to get even simple queries to work when
using ut8 for communication. See:

The first one is supposed to be fixed in 2.1b1 but I have not had a
chance to check the second.

I do believe that one day it will all be wonderful, but this is a
transition time and I would check things carefully before deploying.
