There are lots of tutorials around.

This one is Interbase, but because Firebird was started from an
Interbase 6 beta, it shares a lot.

There are a couple of sections which are not relevant for Firebird.
For example, I think Firebird is clever enough to turn a rollback on a
transaction that does nothing into a commit by itself, and some of the
profiling tools are not available, but it should get you started.
