No, the release notes document the new features of 2.

2.0 is the latest stable.

There are some changes in 2.0 that may break existing applications,
so the 1.5 series has some fixes back ported to give the application
developers a chance to fix the issues. These are mainly applications
relying on queries that break SQL standards.

At this stage, it appears that 1.5.4 *will be* the final 1.5 series
release, but 1.5.4 is not released yet, so your choices are between
1.5.3 and 2.0. Unless your application breaks with 2.0, use it. If it
does break, 1.5 will buy some time to let you fix it.
