Just to prolong the agony, I would not. Having put a million records in
an Access table and 6.5 million records in a DBase table (Delphi/BDE), I
do not the use the "desktop approach" at all, unless the spec can
guarantee that there will never be more than a hundred records in the table.

The downside of this, is that it (usually) requires more work from the
programmer.

Yes, it is easy to get the wrong end of the stick at times with email

contextual clues in speech.
