I have been searching for such information in docs placed on
www.firebird.org
but none of them contained an explicit description of the use the
parenthesis - big thank you for explanation.

Are you talking about "The Firebird Book: a Reference for Database
Developers"?

The SQLs differ between themselves so it is comfortable
