I believe there are people that will give better input than me, but I can speak of personal
practical experience.
We have multiple WAN sites that does replication (programs that we have written) to each other that is from
30 km till 800km from each other and we have no data loss with our transactions.
Basically or your data gets there or not. No 50/50 problem.
