Are you talking about Superserver? My current assumption is that
nbackup can't be used with SS on Linux because it (nbackup) has to
have a local connection (which SS on Linux doesn't support).

The nbackup binary was present in the RC1 Classic kit...anyway, as
suggested by Adam, firebird-devel is the right place to ask about Fb
2.0 issues.
