Thanks for your answer.
I was referring to the Linux user 'firebird'. Permissions are all OK.
Meanwhile I've noticed that the lock manager crashes... I guess I may be
better off starting to have a look at FB2. Couldn't compile it though
because there's a broken package ref on Debian Testing for x86_64...
Maybe I need to stick with 32bit for a little longer...
