I have seen hardware based RAID-5 run slower then non-RAID, but by
playing with the cache settings in the RAID BIOS it sped up a lot (still
slower then non-RAID though). Anyways, it seems doubtful that the RAID
is that much slower... Driver issue with the RAID card?
