Probably not. Firebird 2 is in release candidate so it is not really a
good choice for a production system. Since Firebird 1.5 is stable for
production release and you are close to the limitation of IB 6, I
suggest you upgrade to FB 1.5 as soon as you have confirmed everything
runs fine (which it will providing your queries are not ambiguous).

There is no question that Firebird 2 is preferable once it is
considered stable, but I see no reason to delay the upgrade
considering how close you are to 4GB.
