You can only use the fire server if Firebird is ALSO running on that
machine. The files must be on the same hardware as Firebird as the
server accesses them directly. Accessing them over a slow network link
can be made to work, but only if you accept that the data may become
corrupted, which is why it is never enabled on any 'normal' server setup!
