I did it!
telnet localhost 3050
A blank window came up just as you said. My reader read what was likely the
window title, something about telenet win32 or something but I have just
enough vision left to have seen a black window pop up and stay there until I
Exited it.
So that's what telnet is!
Tomorrow I'll try to do some command line thingys from the Quick Start Guide
to access the sample data base. If that works I'm ready to download an ODBC
driver and attempt a Liberty Basic / FireBird connection!
After reading up on what a driver is and what it does I might have a couple
more questions but now it's evening, and this day's progress went very well.
