Start -> Run
%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s
Double Click:
Firebird Server - DefaultInstance
(if it is not there, it means it is not installed as a service).
Assuming the standard installation, the path to executable should be:
Classic:
C:\Program Files\Firebird\Firebird_1_5\bin\fb_inet_server.exe -s
Or
Superserver:
C:\Program Files\Firebird\Firebird_1_5\bin\fbserver.exe -s
It should say started. When you look at task manager, the user will
be SYSTEM. If it says your username, then you have accidentally
installed it as an application.
Uninstall and reinstall as a service.
