Try with the -T option for Transferrable backup type (both in gbak -R and
gbak -B), and (if you have SuperServer version on your Win) try to put a
localhost: just before the gbak -R filenames, like this:
E:\FB\gbak -R -T -user TAPADMIN -password xxx e:\TAP\tap.fbk
localhost:e:\TAP\tap.fdb

I don't know for sure if this will help, but it works for me all the time.
