I've been thinking about this a lot recently, basically to find out which
procedures get run, and how often, and how long they take.
Using external tables as a log table is one idea, and it's outside of
transaction context, so info won't be removed of a rollback happens.

Then, you could build a small tool that analyses the external tables, cleans
them as necessary, and derives whatever info you need.
