I thnk what you did should be safe, let's wait for others opnions....

What I could recomend you to do is a back-up/restore cycle, this way the
restored database will be if it has the memo as blob from the beginning
(that is the case where the serve dont crash right ?)

Take care to restore it to another location, teste it before you restore
on your production database.
