Over the years our hardware/network teams have deployed numerous
installations with Double take replicating to a secondary box for
redundancy. This has been with Interbase initially and then moved to
Firebird as we did. It seemed to work extremely well and was numerous
times tested in a live situation to failover to the second server and
continue to work.

We opt for the Clustered server approach now with the central disk
array.
