exactly giving you the information you need to debug this. Before assuming
that Firebird is failing here, have you considered that the 'unable to
complete network request to host "localhost"' may in fact be that your DNS
is not resolving "localhost" in a timely manner?
Have you tried this with the IP address of the local host set in your
connection string (127.0.0.1) instead? Not sure if this will help, but I
would assume that it would bypass any attempt by the computer to have to
resolve DNS to an IP address, which may be what is failing under heavy load.
Certainly worth a try to see if it makes any difference.
