Woohaa, it won't be as easy as that.

I'd use the guide on building firebird from source as a primary guide, and
if the build (or configure) steps break, see if that section of the source
is covered in the patch file for FreeBSD.

As OpenDarwin (Mac OS X's unix underlayer) is based on FreeBSD, many parts
of the underlying system are alarmingly similar...
