Did you export the database, back it up, and then re-import it?

I had problems going from one beta to another. It didn't work right at all.
So I set up a database on my workstation, in your case beta 2, then using
DBW, extracted the DDL from the earlier beta, created that on my computer.

Then I used the DBW data pumping utility to move all the records from the
earlier Alpha I was using to the next Alpha on my computer.

Went to the server, and made a backup of the file (not the database).
Uninstalled the earlier version, installed the new version, recreated the
database, ran the DLL and pumped back the data form my workstation.

The database ran fine after that. Hope that helps. I can also make the
last beta available if you haven't already found it someplace else.
