I assume you registered the function?

DECLARE EXTERNAL FUNCTION abs
DOUBLE PRECISION
RETURNS DOUBLE PRECISION BY VALUE
ENTRY_POINT 'IB_UDF_abs' MODULE_NAME 'ib_udf';
