Do you want a 64bit or 32bit one?

There is no *best* linux distribution. They all have their pros and
cons. I recommend you try out few and see which fits you.

You haven't given us any data? I assume you come from Windows world.
Perhaps you should start with Mandriva.


Other valid options I'd recommend are: Debian, Slackware and SuSE.
