OK - so we're talking about blobs.
You talk as if using the interface application is the only way you can
investigate the database. Do you have a management tool so you can see
what's missing in raw form? perhaps you could check the record counts, then
see if it's all records prior to a certain PK which are missing? Are you
purely a user fo this db? or the designer of it?
