Not good advice for a newbie.
1) Being logged in as root is bad karma when just messing about - in
fact, many Linux installers of recent years default to making it
quite difficult to log in as root and to stay logged in if you do.

2) Client impersonation disappears in Fb 2.0. Has it occurred to you
that there's actually a good reason for this?
