I don't want to write SQL. I want to click "Add field" and a dialog pops up
that asks the essential information. Take a look at IBExpert to see what I
mean.

Click on the SQL icon and you can issue any valid sql command such as
alter table mytable
add mynewcolumn integer
click on the execute icon (looks like lighting bolt)
