Did you forget to take the option to build the "compatible" client
when you installed Fb 2.0? No big deal if you did forget - you can
build it using the instclient.exe program from the command
line. (The exe is in the bin subdirectory). Make sure you read the
documentation for instclient.exe before you proceed to do this. It
is in the doc subdirectory.

There's never been any guarantee that IBX would keep working with
Firebird ad infinitum, though. Using IBX is a bit of a tightrope
walk....not knowing just when the wire is going to snap, only knowing
that it's going to, some time....

It will be interesting to see whether the aggressively protective
stance taken by ye Olde TeamB volunteers in the InterBase camp during
the past six years will carry over into "TeamC[odegear]" in the
future. The fact that Borland came forward spontaneously to provide
some considerable sponsorship for the recent Firebird conference
indicates some degree of thaw on the Borland side of the now-ancient
crevasse...
