Jacek,
For a reason I once knew but have forgotten, a union
takes two streams per input source, so you can have 255
streams in an inner or outer join, but unions are limited
to 127 data sources. If my memory is correct, even as
the limit on streams is lifted, unions will be more restricted
than joins.
