That middleware sounds interesting. What do you mean about that? Should I create some app which synchronize the main database with some local structure, and the main app works with this local DB?

None of them is.
When accessing Fb through the internet, they're all slow ;)
That being said, your best choices are IBObjects and FIBPlus.
But if you want to access the database through the internet AND
want speed, invest in a middleware application/componentset.
