"Counter Main" isn't a valid hostname. I get this exact exception if
I add a hostname called Counter Main to my hosts file and try to
connect to it. If I delete the space, I can connect to CounterMain just fine.

So the burning question is: where are they getting "Counter Main"
from? Maybe a bad entry in the router's redirection table?
