I don't believe this is the problem. One thing we've found is a
registry entry on the WinNT machines.

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\Run
called FireBird which is blank.

I can't find any reference to this entry in the Firebird INNO script
so I'm not sure where this is coming from. When this registry entry
is deleted, the problem goes away.
