Peter,

Check the Firebird.conf

There is a flag somewhere under the WARNING WARNING WARNING (which I
heavily advise you read).

Embedded is simply a superserver inside a .dll (or .so).

Someone posted a similar problem a week or two back that you might
want to locate. They had trouble getting a UDF to load from the
network drive.

Do you have some task you are trying to achieve by this, perhaps there
is a better (and safer) way to achieve what you are after.
