Ehh stupid me - yes.

I'm working only with classic with linux - so you have 2 choices;
1. Install Classic Server (firebird.sf.net)
2. try to recompile kinterbasdb with super server

I would recommend 1, as I have never tried 2.

I always install kinterbasdb from source. Todo so, you need egenix
mx.DateTime package (available form www.egenix.com) and kinterbasdb
source code.

Untar the archives, cd into and type

python setup.py install

as root.
