Hi,
I assume that stand-alone means embedded?!
I deploy my little app using the Firebird 1.5 embedded server, but on my
development machine I use the full server as it is handy to be able to
look at the database while the app is open which would not be possible
with the embedded.
To maintain the database I use IBexpert Personal edition
(http://www.ibexpert.com/) and I believe you could use it to connect to
a db with the embedded server as it allows to define the client library
per connection you configure.
See you
Werner
