It's possible, and the way of doing that depends on your connectivity
components. Generally, this functionality belongs to services API. For
example, FIB+ implements it in a TpFIBConfigService component,
SetAsyncMode(Value: Boolean) method; and IBX implements it in a
TIBConfigService component, the same method name.
