I see that PHP's Firebird/Interbase module supports events. I wonder if there is a way to break it out to run stand-alone? As you can tell I know nothing about PHP besides that fact that it's used as HTML scripting language. How easy is it to use as a general scripting language, i.e. run it in a bash shell with no HTML.

Subject: [firebird-support] Event notification through ODBC or Linux app
Do any ODBC drivers handle Firebird events? Are there any Linux apps that do the same? I've been looking but only found Delphi applications.
Thanks, Rick DeBay
P.S. Any idea when JMS/Jaybird support for events will be available?
