Think it would help if you could explain your system a bit more in
depth. Who hosts the db, how is it accessed (php, asp, asp.net etc) and
is the website that accesses it running at the same server / lan that is
hosting the database ?
I for example have developed a couple of ASP.Net websites which use the
Firebird .Net Provider to access Firebird 1.5.2 databases and it is not
slow, but then the database results are returned across the lan to the
webserver pretty quickly.

Database : Firebird Superserver V1.5.2
We use the Firebird Database in out local Network and it works fine.
But when we try to establish a Connection to Firebird Database over
Internet the Connection is really slow. Small Requests to the Database
takes a minute+. Is there any way to increase the Performance of the
Database ? Thanks ;)
